Call for Proposals: 2024 Health Equity Summit

Discover and share exciting initiatives at the third annual Health Equity Summit, Building Solidarity: Sustainable Pathways Towards Health Equity. The Summit is a collaboration between community members, healthcare providers and educators to dismantle institutional barriers to health and enhance patient experiences.

Dates: Monday, October 7, 4 - 6 pm: Poster presentations and kickoff reception

Tuesday, October 8, 8 am - 5 pm: Workshops and sessions

VT Substance Use Prevention Studies Use Novel Approach to Keep Young People Engaged

Ensuring the effectiveness of policies and media campaigns targeting young people is critical to achieving substance use prevention, but state surveillance systems are often not nimble enough to capture quickly changing substance use trends. New findings from UVM researchers and colleagues highlight how a uniquely flexible survey instrument and use of incentives help capture relevant data and keep young Vermonters engaged.

Since it began its rapid spread in December 2019, the SARS-CoV-2 virus has altered the landscape of nearly every enterprise in the world; higher education, including medical education, has not been spared. As the pandemic continues, Larner College of Medicine faculty and staff continue to rise to the occasion – making improvements to the curriculum and learning environment based on student feedback, data collection, and guidance from local, regional, and national authorities.
