Our Biostatistics, Epidemiology, & Research Design Core is partnering with our Professional Development Core to develop Research Studios for any interested members. These programs are adapted from the studios developed and run by the Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR).
What is a Research Studio?
Studios are 90-minute interactive discussions between an investigator and 3-6 relevant experts from diverse academic disciplines. These discussions focus on a specific aspect of the investigator's research project to encourage the project's process with expert guidance and feedback. The sessions are designed to refine hypotheses and research questions, promote the most rigorous study designs and research methods, and consider new study analyses to maximize the project's potential. Investigators at any career level may request these sessions.
Sessions can focus on one of the following topics:
- analysis and interpretation
- grant review
- hypothesis generation
- implementation
- manuscript review
- study design
- translation of findings into practice/policy
