The Medical Student Council serves as the official student governance body and represents all medical students enrolled at UVM Larner Med. The Council serves as a liaison between all medical students, administrative offices, and other non-medical UVM student organizations. Duties include, but are not limited to, management of the class budgets, oversight of Student Interest Groups and Student Leadership Groups, and promotion of student camaraderie & community outreach through class and schoolwide social events, fundraisers, community service, and more.

The Larner Medical Student Council also works collaboratively with our Larner Graduate Student Council to provide ongoing support and advocacy for the Larner Student Community, as a whole.

Student Interest Groups & Event Planning

Getting involved with interest groups is a great way for students to learn more about various careers in medicine. Students can connect with faculty, community physicians, residents, and senior medical students to learn  more about career options, research and educational opportunities, shadowing opportunities, and even residency application tips.

• Read about currently active Student Interest Groups (SIGs)
• Visit the Learning COMmons to view and download SIG documents (i.e. Application, Signatures Form, Event Forms, etc.)
• Sign into the COMmons using your MED credentials; these are the same credentials as COMET
• If you are off-campus, you may need to place "MED\" in from of your username.
