    Last May, the Vermont Legislature passed a law requiring providers to inform patients directly of their breast density. This information has previously been available to the provider in the mammogram report.

If so, you might live longer, say researchers at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, who found that consumption of hot red chili peppers is associated with a 13 percent reduction in total mortality – primarily in deaths due to heart disease or stroke – in a large prospective study.

Mona Hanna-Attisha, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, director of the Pediatric Health Initiative at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, will present the MLK Health Equity Lecture, titled "We Are All Flint: The Flint Water Crisis and Public Health Advocacy" on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Classroom in the Medical Education Center at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM.
