• Geisinger Medical Center Open House: 09/23, 8-9:30pm, Virtual Event (pre-registration required). A second session will occur on 9/28. You’ll be able to meet & speak with our Program Director, APDs as well as our surgical residents. This will be a great time to get to know our program!
• Letter of Recommendation Request if Applying into Surgical Residency: 09/25 request deadline (NOTE DATE CORRECTION #weeklywirefail). If your application requires a letter of recommendation from the Chair of Surgery please contact Lisa Beaulieu for instructions. Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for the letter to be completed. 
• UVM COVID-19 Student Testing Protocol: All Larner clinical-level students are still currently exempt from the UVM COVID-19 Student Testing protocol; your UVM CATCard access should not be impacted by not engaging in the program. Once the testing center and CoVerified App are fully-operational and running smoothly, we will work with the UVM Strong COVID-19 Testing Team to officially roll this out to our clinical level students.
  • REMINDER - Vermont Travel Guidelines: Although exempt from the UVM COVID-19, all students must still adhere to state and local health and safety guidelines, including travel and quarantine requirements. If you enter travel-mandated quarantine, all UVM students can schedule a quarantine-day-seven test via UVM SHS (phone option #1) or  via a local clinic; you must secure negative test results or reach day-14 before ending your quarantine.
  • UVM Student COVID-19 Testing Center: Located in the Davis Center. Open 8/24 - 8/29, 8am - 5pm. Starting 8/31, open 9am-9pm, Monday-Thursday and 9am - 5pm Fridays. Although you are currently exempt from the protocol requirements, the testing center is available to all students, free of charge, should you wish to use it. You must have your UVM ID (CATCard) to be tested. Until the CoVerified app is announced, walk-ins welcome.
    • The CoVerified App is live! Thank you for your patience as we worked out a few last-minute issues. Testing is the backbone of our strategy for a safe and successful, in-person fall opening. Download the CoVerified App (and update if/when/anytime prompted) to schedule required COVID-19 tests, see test results, and complete the required daily health screening.

If a student fails to meet the requirements, the systems are automated and your UVM ID will be deactivated until you return to compliance. All zero-day and subsequent testing occurs at the clinic, set up in the Davis Center.

• UVM Offices Closed Monday, September 07: 09/07, all day. UVM Offices, including the Office of Medical Student Education, are closed in observance of Labor Day. Offices will re-open on Tuesday, September 08, at 8am. Please plan accordingly and we apologize for any inconvenience.
  
• IT Support: There is no walk-in support without an appointment at this time. Access support via submitting a footprint or calling our support queue line (802-488-5553). If in-person or hardware support is required,  we will coordinate over the phone or via Footprints/email about scheduling an appointment or shipping the equipment to us via FedEx.
  
• CATCard Not Working? Some students who enrolled in the GET Mobile app might encounter issues with their physical card access - please use your phone/app until this is resolved (should unlock the doors); this was a security feature to prevent a student hosting two active IDs (phone and card). If you run into any issues with your CATCard, please do not hesitate to contact our incredible CATCard Service Center team.

  • Dining Spaces: If/when you need to remove your mask (i.e. for eating and drinking), please ensure physical distancing. Areas in the student lounge, Given Courtyard, Hoehl Gallery, outside the Dana Medical Library, and the Med Ed rooms can all be used for dining space. These spaces have adjusted the seating to accommodate the physical distancing.
  • Student Lounge Appliances: All students may continue to use the microwaves and refrigerators in the student lounge. Please follow guidelines posted. UNIVERSITY OPPORTUNITIES & UPCOMING EVENTS

UVM Events under COVID-19: Events should be hosted remotely where and when possible to support our current shelter-in-place recommendations.
