This infection is difficult to treat, especially among those with an antibiotic-resistant strain, but Peter Moses, M.D., professor of medicine at the Larner College of Medicine and gastroenterologist at the UVM Medical Center, uses fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as a solution.
