More than 100 anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and healthcare professionals with an interest in the field from around the U.S. convened in picturesque Stowe, Vt. for the 24th Annual Vermont Perspectives in Anesthesia Conference March 6-10, 2019.

This year’s conference provided not only incredible conditions for winter activities, but included a variety of new and timely topics, including “Anesthesia for Head and Neck Surgery: A New Subspecialty with Difficult Airways, Shared Airways and Emerging Technologies,” by UVM Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology William Hart, M.D.  Additionally, participants reviewed recent data on opioid prescribing and discussed the unique physiology and pharmacology concerns in the pediatric patient.

Following tradition, Saturday evening featured the Olga Torbin Memorial Lectureship, presented by the Resident Winners of Best Grand Rounds 2018-2019 and the Annual Johns' Fund Lecture, "Should Enhanced recovery be the Standard of Care?" by Tong J. Gan, M.D. Following the lectures, guests and their families enjoyed a reception.

The conference is returning March 4-8, 2020 for its 25th installment, which will take place at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa. To view details for 2020, visit the conference webpage here.
