Cushman's AHA Population Research Prize Featured in Daily News Outlets

News of a Population Research Prize, received by Mary Cushman, M.D., UVM professor of medicine, at the American Heart Association;s annual Scientific Sessions, was covered in several U.S. daily news outlets.
(November 12, 2018) Mary Cushman, M.D., M.Sc., professor of medicine, has been awarded the American Heart Association Population Research Prize for her work relating to the causes of cardiovascular disease. This annual prize honors important studies of cardiovascular disease patterns in populations. According to Ivor Benjamin, M.D., president of the American Heart Association, “Dr. Cushman has led critically acclaimed research utilizing biomarker assessments in population studies to elucidate pathways of disease etiology for the three most common vascular diseases coronary heart disease, stroke and venous thromboembolism - as well as their risk factors.”
