Gramling to Discuss Improving Clinician-Patient-Family Communication at Community Medical School on 5/2

Join the Larner College of Medicine community for the third lecture of the Community Medical School Spring 2017 series on May 2! This week, Robert Gramling, M.D., D.Sc., will discuss “Conversations in Serious Illness: Improving Clinician-Patient-Family Communication” starting at 6:00 pm in the Carpenter Auditorium in the Given Building.

Join the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine and UVM Medical Center on May 2 for the third lecture of the Spring 2017 Community Medical School series! Robert Gramling, M.D., D.Sc., will discuss “Conversations in Serious Illness: Improving Clinician-Patient-Family Communication” starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Carpenter Auditorium in the Given Building on the UVM campus.

Gramling is the Miller Chair of Palliative Medicine and an associate professor of family medicine at the Larner College of Medicine. He will discuss the Vermont Palliative Care Communication Initiative, which strives to evoke highly effective communication between clinicians and seriously ill patients and their loved ones. Find out the rationale, design, and implementation of this innovative and timely public health project from a national expert and UVM’s first endowed chair in palliative medicine.
