Jensen Presents VCBH Lecture on Overweight & Obesity

The Vermont Center on Behavior and Health's January lecture featured Gordon L. Jensen, M.D., Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Medicine and Nutrition at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

The Vermont Center on Behavior and Health's January lecture featured Gordon L. Jensen, M.D., Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Medicine and Nutrition at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

The presentation, titled “Overweight and Obesity: Impact of Metabolic Risk Upon Health and Mortality Outcomes,” took place on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 12 to 1 p.m. in Davis Auditorium on Level 2 of the UVM Medical Center.

Jensen’s research interests have focused on the impact of nutritional status on health and functional outcomes in older persons. A widely recognized nutrition researcher and educator, he has made numerous presentations at national and international meetings. He has served on advisory panels, study sections, and working groups for the National Institutes of Health, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Food and Nutrition Board. He served two terms as a member of the Food and Nutrition Board and has served on several editorial boards for leading nutrition journals and as an ad hoc reviewer for many other journals. He has authored more than 180 journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. His contributions were recently recognized with the 2014 Jonathan Rhoads Lecture, ASPEN’s most prestigious award
