  • Fifth Annual StorySlamRx Storytelling Workshop with Susanne Schmidt: 12/14, 4-5:30pm, via Zoom (registration required). A storytelling workshop with former Moth StorySlam winner and producer, Susanne Schmidt; in this workshop, you will learn how to take your story from the page to the stage...
  • Walk with a Doc: 12/16, 3 or 3:30pm (time TBD), Shelburne Bay Park. Join us for the last Walk of 2022! Led by Dr. Hulse. Dress warmly. See map for location information...
  • RECURRING WELLNESS ACTIVITIES:
    • Tea Time Tuesdays with UVM Interfaith Center: Every Tuesday, 9-10am, UVM Interfaith Center (on Redstone Campus next to blue water tower). Craving an opportunity to just sit and chat with  others? Join us for bagels, a beverage (not just tea!), and informal conversation. Drop by. The entire UVM community is welcome!
    • QT Meditation Circle: Every Tuesday, 5:30-6:15pm, UVM Living/Learning, C170. For undergrads, grads, staff, and faculty who identify as Queer, Trans, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Asexual or those that fall in between or expand beyond these categories. Join student mindfulness facilitators for this weekly meditation circle. No experience with meditation is needed!
    • "Spiritual Practice - Connect" with UVM Interfaith Center: Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30pm, UVM Interfaith Center (on Redstone Campus next to blue water tower). This inclusive spiritual gathering is an opportunity to pause in the midst of your busy week and spend some quality time connecting - with yourself, others, and the sources of support that are meaningful to you.
    • Mindfulness Tools for Health and Wellbeing for ALL Cancer Patients, Caregivers, Providers. Virtual meetings 5:00-6:30pm 1st Wednesday of each month. All offerings Mindfulness Tools offerings are free. For more information or to sign up, contact Danna Smith 
    • UVM/UVMMC Event/Offering - Kaiut Yoga for Chronic Conditions: Thursdays 9-10 a.m., on Zoom (free, sign-up required), offered through UVM Medical Center. For more information or to register, email Julia Oshea.
    • Let's Talk! CAPS Drop-In - Meet Walter: Every Thursday, 2:30-4pm, Living/Learning C180. Let’s Talk at the Prism Center is intended for LGBTQIA+ identified students. Simply drop into the Prism Center in C180 and sign up on the whiteboard for one of the afternoon’s open spots (C181 is the pink room right through the kitchen).

  • 41st annual William Carlos Williams poetry competition*: 12/31 submission deadline. The top three prize-winning poems will receive a monetary award ($300, $200, and $100 for first, second, and third place, respectively) and will be considered for publication in the Journal of Medical Humanities.

Graduate students are highly sought tenants in the Burlington area and property owners often advertise specifically to them with special rates (less than would be offered to undergraduate students). Don't hesitate to ask housing contacts if they would consider lowering the advertised rate to secure a graduate student; it never hurts to ask!

Lost & Found

Lost something? Email the Office of Medical Education (OME) a description of the item. OME and the Dana Medical Library recently joined the UVM campus-wide lost & found system and search not only the College of Medicine, but campus as a whole to see if it's been turned in. If it hasn't, the office can file a claim for the item should someone turn it in soon!

Found something? Please turn it into either the Office of Medical Education (Given Courtyard n100) or the Dana Medical Library (First floor of the Medical Education Center) and we will be sure to log it into the Campus-Wide Lost & Found Database.

Found items are kept up to 30 days, and then are donated to various local organizations depending on the item.
