CLASS INFORMATION
Class of 2020
- THIS WEEK - Diploma Pick-up: For local graduates, diplomas may be picked up at the Registrar’s Office counter located on the 3rd floor in the Waterman Building, starting on Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To ease congestion and practice safe social distancing, we ask that graduates adhere to the following schedule when picking up their diplomas:
- Given Mailroom Access: If you are local and would like to clear out your given mailbox, you can pick mail up M-F, 8am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. Go to the door by the loading docks, located on the East side of the Given building; you can park by the dumpsters. You will see a sign asking you to knock and Mo, our friend in the mailroom, will greet you.
- We will have more information from the mailroom soon regarding how any mail remaining will be issued to the mailbox-owners. OMSE will cover the cost of a one-time mail forwarding of your mailbox contents, and then USPS-provided "essential mail-forwarding" will go into effect for the provided address.
- LAST CHANCE - AAMC GQ Survey ("Incentive Pot" Sweetened!): Survey closes June 02. If we can hit 94%, we will host a drawing for a $50 gift card to your shop/restaurant of choice (online GC purchase must be available). If we can hit 97%, we will do one for $100! So, please ask your co2020 neighbor, "Have YOU submitted your completed GQ survey, yet?"
- Congratulations Graduates! Here are a few commencement thingies for your viewing/perusing pleasure:
- FIRST Friday Webinar - "Repayment Strategies: How to Manage Student Loans After Graduating Medical School": 06/12, 1-2pm ET, webinar (pre-registration link provided). - Only ONE MORE issue of the WeeklyWire left! We plan to send you one more issue of the WeeklyWire, and then the Class of 2020 will be removed from distribution and our 2024s added (2024s, what?!). If you wish to continue to receive the WeeklyWire after graduating, please subscribe using a new non-MED email address (subscribe form is in our right-hand menu, in the online version of the Wire).
- FYI - Email Accounts: Students retain their COM email address for one year following their graduation. COMTS suggests students configure their MED email with a forwarding rule via Outlook Web Access as soon as they get a new [professional] email address.
