  • APPROACHING APPLICATION DEADLINE - Apply to be a Foundations Committee student representative for 2018-2019! 04/22 application deadline. Members attend all committee meetings (in person or remote) - occur the 2nd Wed. of the month, 5:30-7:30pm; responsible for formalized review of the Foundations level course curriculum. Selected by class-wide election and would start in May...
  • Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) Survey: This survey, developed by the SJC, aims to evaluate the SDoH curriculum in Foundations Years 1 & 2, to identify key areas for curricular improvement and to understand the student experience of learning SDoH material. Please take the time to participate in this brief survey and help make your education here at Larner second to none!

  • TECH TIP - Copying and searching for text within elements or images in OneNote: The EdTech Team produced a pdf and a brief screencast showing how to print PowerPoint, PDF, Word and other documents to OneNote and how to copy and search for text from within the elements, images or handwriting in OneNote.
    • EdTech team: The EdTech team is always here to assist you. Reach out to us via email (edtech@med.uvm.edu) or come visit us in the Larner Learning Commons, MedEd 132.
  • Standing Desks Available: The library has a variety of useful materials besides books! You may borrow a Standing Desk for 7 days by asking for one at the Main Desk. Need it longer than 7 days? Bring it back to the Main Desk and we can renew it for you. Please contact Dana Medical Library with any questions.

UVM LCOM Hockey Team Takes Home the Big W for the 2019 Specimen Cup! Big thanks to everyone who made it out to support the LCOM hockey team as they took on Dartmouth on April 06 for the 2019 Specimen Cup. We all had a blast and send big congrats to all of our players. Well done!

Housing Opportunities

Graduate students are highly sought tenants in the Burlington area and property owners often advertise specifically to them with special rates (less than would be offered to undergraduate students); thus, the Office of Medical Student Education pulls together a list of housing opportunities posted specifically for this group, so you don't miss out on a good deal. Moreover, medical students also try to keep good spaces "in the family" and are known to post to this list. Please contact the Office of Medical Education if you have any questions.

Don't hesitate to ask the contact if they would consider lowering the advertised rate to secure a graduate student; it never hurts to ask!

Lost & Found

Lost something? Email the Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE) a description of the item. OMSE and the Dana Medical Library recently joined the UVM campus-wide lost & found system and search not only the College of Medicine, but campus as a whole to see if it's been turned in. If it hasn't, the office can file a claim for the item should someone turn it in soon!

Found something? Please turn it into either the Office of Medical Student Education (Given Courtyard n100) or the Dana Medical Library (First floor of the Medical Education Center) and we will be sure to log it into the Campus-Wide Lost & Found Database.

Found items are kept up to 30 days, and then are donated to various local organizations depending on the item.
