Congratulations Members!

Mark Bisanzo, MD, Teaching Academy Member and Professor of Emergency Medicine, just completed his Executive Master’s in Clinical Quality, Safety, and Leadership from Georgetown University.

Christian D. Pulcini, MD, MPH, MEd, Teaching Academy Member and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, published his first picture book called “The Family Squeeze” available at bookstores and libraries across Vermont and online through Onion River Press.

Teaching Academy Induction and Award Ceremony: Friday, January 17

The annual Teaching Academy Induction and Award Ceremony will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, 12-1pm in the Grand Maple Ballroom, Davis Student Center. This year’s ceremony will coincide with the Snow Season Education Retreat and lunch will be served beginning at 11:30am. Please use the Snow Season Education Retreat registration to RSVP.

Call for 2025 IAMSE Educational Scholarship & Curriculum Innovation Grants

The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) encourages and supports scholarship in medical science education by funding multiple educational scholarship and curriculum innovation grants for up to $5,000 each.

  • IAMSE Educational Scholarship Grants support projects designed to systematically collect and analyze data related to medical education, which may employ a variety of methods, but seeks to produce generalizable knowledge for dissemination.
  • IAMSE Curriculum Innovation Grants support projects designed for the general enrichment of teaching and learning that go beyond normal expectations of a faculty member, including but not limited to advances in pedagogy, technology, content development, or professional development.

 

All IAMSE members are eligible to submit a grant proposal. Preference will be given to new projects. Only proposals relevant to the mission of IAMSE will be considered for funding. The results of funded projects must be presented at a future IAMSE Conference. Successful applicants will be announced via email and at the 2025 IAMSE Conference. The deadline to submit proposals for 2025 grants is January 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET. For more information, please visit our website here. Regional/National Call for Proposals

GEA Call for Educational Research Grant Proposals

In its strong encouragement and support of research in medical education, the GEA seeks to fund research projects that address important problems or questions in medical education. Proposals that foster collaboration are strongly encouraged.  This includes collaborations among GEA sections (UME, GME, CPD), across GEA regions (CGEA, NEGEA, SGEA, WGEA) and/or proposals that engage multiple schools, professions, or departments.  Multiple projects may be funded each year up to $10,000 each up to a two-year grant period. The number of proposals funded per year will depend upon the GEA budget and proposal quality. Pre-proposals are due on January 17, 2025, by 11:59 PM PT.
