Clinical investigations promote the advances in basic science to the bedside and relay new problems and questions back to basic scientists. Patient-oriented research plays an important role in the discovery and development of new therapies and treatments. The Department of Medicine has a robust clinical trials portfolio of over 300 active protocols. The research administration team supports faculty and staff in the conduct of clinical trials research.
