Students interested in advancing their knowledge of biochemistry are encouraged to register for the following courses, which may be offered each summer--please check the Registrar's page for updated listings.
Biochemistry of Human Disease (BIOC 201) (3001):
Molecular approach to genetic, metabolic, and infectious diseases; recombinant DNA technology and medicine; molecular biology of cancer. 3 credit course.
Advanced Biochemistry Lab: Protein CURE BIOC 3030:
Course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) designed to develop students' critical thinking and use of the scientific method. Students will read the literature to identify a biological question linked to a specific protein, develop a hypothesis, and test it at the bench. Findings will be presented to their classmates.
