(APRIL 20, 2023) Larner second-year medical student Kae Ravichandran won the newly created nonbinary division at the 2023 Boston Marathon on April 17, NBC5 and numerous other media outlets reported. Ravichandran placed first out of 27 runners with a time of 2:38:57, beating the second-place finisher by more than 10 minutes.

After failing to finish the 2022 Boston Marathon — at which Ravichandran was forced to participate as a male despite identifying as nonbinary as well as being a trans woman — they not only completed the race in 2023, but also made history.
