Teaching Academy Induction and Award Ceremony: Friday, January 17

The annual Teaching Academy Induction and Award Ceremony will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, 12-1pm in the Grand Maple Ballroom, Davis Student Center. This year’s ceremony will coincide with the Snow Season Education Retreat and lunch will be served beginning at 11:30am. Please use the Snow Season Education Retreat registration to RSVP.

The Group on Educational Affairs (GEA) National Grant Award Committee is now accepting pre-proposals for the 2025 GEA National Educational Research Grant Award

In its strong encouragement and support of research in medical education, the GEA seeks to fund research projects that address important problems or questions in medical education. Proposals that foster collaboration are strongly encouraged.  This includes collaborations among GEA sections (UME, GME, CPD), across GEA regions (CGEA, NEGEA, SGEA, WGEA) and/or proposals that engage multiple schools, professions, or departments.  Multiple projects may be funded each year up to $10,000 each up to a two-year grant period. The number of proposals funded per year will depend upon the GEA budget and proposal quality. Pre-proposals are due on January 17, 2025, by 11:59 PM PT. Applications Now Being Accepted for 2025 Junior Faculty Travel Awards and 2025 Student Travel Awards

The IAMSE Junior Faculty Travel Awards Program and Student Travel Awards Program support junior faculty and students to attend the IAMSE Annual Conference. The amount of the 2025 Travel Awards will be $1,500 and is meant to cover expenses for one individual presenter related to attendance at the upcoming IAMSE Annual Conference in Calgary, such as conference registration, lodging, and airfare. Any IAMSE junior faculty or student member who is presenting at the 2025 Annual Conference can apply. Awards will be only granted to presenting authors with an accepted oral or poster abstract. Non-presenting authors will not be considered. The deadline to submit is December 15, 2024. Are you Junior Faculty? Applications for faculty travel grants can be submitted here. Regional/National Call for Proposals

Call for 2025 IAMSE Educational Scholarship & Curriculum Innovation Grants

The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) encourages and supports scholarship in medical science education by funding multiple educational scholarship and curriculum innovation grants for up to $5,000 each.

IAMSE Educational Scholarship Grants support projects designed to systematically collect and analyze data related to medical education, which may employ a variety of methods, but seeks to produce generalizable knowledge for dissemination.

IAMSE Curriculum Innovation Grants support projects designed for the general enrichment of teaching and learning that go beyond normal expectations of a faculty member, including but not limited to advances in pedagogy, technology, content development, or professional development.

All IAMSE members are eligible to submit a grant proposal. Preference will be given to new projects. Only proposals relevant to the mission of IAMSE will be considered for funding. The results of funded projects must be presented at a future IAMSE Conference. Successful applicants will be announced via email and at the 2025 IAMSE Conference. The deadline to submit proposals for 2025 grants is January 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET. For more information, please visit our website here.
