Vermont Children’s Hospital Selected for U.S. News & World Report’s
“Best Children’s Hospitals” List for 2012-2013
U.S. News & World Report has cited two pediatric specialties at The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital (formerly Fletcher Allen Health Care) as being among the best in the nation. The magazine’s health care experts have determined
that both pulmonology and gastroenterology care ranks at or near the top 25% of pediatric centers nationwide, qualifying UVM Children’s Hospital for the magazine’s Best Children’s Hospitals list. It is the only children’s
hospital identified in northern New England and northern New York State on the list.

U.S. News surveyed 178 pediatric centers and 1,500 pediatric specialists to make its determinations. In addition to rankings, the “Best Children’s Hospitals” survey provides quality-related information including survival rates, adequacy
