World Today News Notes Cushman Study on Blood Type AB and Dementia

(JANUARY 6, 2023) A recent study led by Mary Cushman, M.D., M.Sc., professor of medicine and of pathology and laboratory medicine, found that people with blood type AB are 82 percent more likely to experience thinking and memory impairments that can lead to dementia, World Today News reported.

(JANUARY 6, 2023) According to the authors of a recent study led by Mary Cushman, M.D., M.Sc., professor of medicine and of pathology and laboratory medicine, people with blood type AB are 82 percent more likely to experience thinking and memory impairments that can lead to dementia, World Today News reported.

This is caused by higher protein levels in those with blood type AB, thus increasing the risk of blood clots. While these results are interesting, Cushman cautioned that more supporting data is needed to confirm the findings of this study.
