Fall Community Medical School Kicks Off with 250 Attendees at "Mystery of Sleep"

The University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine and UVM Medical Center kicked off the fall 2019 series of Community Medical School with a presentation on September 10 by Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Pamela Swift, Ph.D., on "Solving the Mystery of Sleep: Patterns, Habits, & Tools."
On Tuesday, September 10, the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine and UVM Medical Center kicked off the fall 2019 series of Community Medical School with a presentation by Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Pamela Swift, Ph.D., on "Solving the Mystery of Sleep: Patterns, Habits, & Tools." Roughly 250 people attended the session in the College's Sullivan Classroom and overflow seating in the Reardon Classroom in the Medical Education Center. 

This session marks the 21st year of the free educational series, which provides members of the community with an insider's view into the science of medicine and the latest research and treatments.

Fall 2019 presentations also include:
  • Thursday, October 10: "Opioids, Cannabis, and Chronic Pain: What Doctors Do & Don't Know," by Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology James Wolf, M.D.
  • Tuesday, December 10: "Stem Cell Therapies: Hype & Hope," by Professor of Medicine Daniel Weiss, M.D., Ph.D.
