Our Rheumatology faculty members maintain active clinical, translational, epidemiology, and basic science research programs. Clinical research includes treatment and prevention protocols and investigator-initiated, cooperative group, and industry trials.
Basic and Translational Research
Basic research is supported by the laboratory facilities and faculty of the Immunobiology Program.

Clinical Research
Clinical research is presently being conducted on the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis and on analysis of our bone density database. We have worked, or are now working, collaboratively with other departments and divisions such as Orthopedics, Oncology, Physiology and Immunobiology on clinical projects. We are presently studying new biologic agents for Rheumatoid Arthritis and on the epidemiology of Osteoporosis and Arthritis.
