Patient Care & Clinical Services
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension is a university academic division of the Department of Medicine, supporting teaching faculty and providing research facilities for physicians with attending medical staff privileges at our clinical teaching
partner, The University of Vermont Medical Center.
We provide kidney replacement therapies for patients with end-stage kidney disease including in-center hemodialysis and home dialysis, by either peritoneal or short daily hemodialysis and treatment of acute kidney failure using continuous kidney replacement
therapies in the intensive care unit. The unit has an experienced staff committed to training patients for a variety of home dialysis therapies. In conjunction with the Department of Surgery, the nephrology Unit cares for patients undergoing kidney
or kidney-pancreas transplantation.
