Education
Our faculty are key members of the educational team at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and The University of Vermont Medical Center. They play a pivotal role in teaching and directing courses for a broad audience of clinical learners. Our educational programs cover a wide spectrum, from primary care to tertiary care, from communication skills to statistics, from pre-medical students to post-graduate continuing medical education.
Residency & Fellowship Training
The University of Vermont College of Medicine and its partner, The University of Vermont Medical Center, offer a program designed to prepare physicians for successful ABIM board certification in Internal Medicine. We also offer a number of fellowship training programs.
Medical Student Education
Our faculty teach several courses throughout the year to medical students and residents. Our educational programs span all levels of the Vermont Integrated Curriculum. We actively engage students and trainees in the classroom, in the clinic, and in research settings.
Program in Wise Prescribing
Our research group developed a novel approach to provider education based on academic detailing. Delivered by the Office of Primary Care, the Program in Wise Prescribing is engaged in supplying the programs to primary care providers across Vermont, as well as rigorously evaluating the program's impact. Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) Research Programs
The CCTS faculty trains young professionals in clinical and translational research and provides opportunities for fellowship support, allowing them to perform research in conjunction with a mentor. Our trained professionals write successful grants, become independently funded and form the next generation of well-trained clinical and translational researchers. Many of our faculty members supervise candidates for the Ph.D., M.S. and Graduate Certificates in CCTS and teach many of the core courses for those programs.
