Conferences & Seminars
Didactic and interactive conferences complement the intensive clinical learning experience and cover all facets of clinical cardiology as well as advanced basic, translational and clinical research.
Fellows attend weekly interventional, electrophysiology, and imaging conferences; for a monthly schedule or to confirm speakers and times, contact Roberta Frohock.
In addition to the didactic and interactive conferences, fellows are involved in case discussions, hemodynamic sessions, ECG hours, congenital series, and journal clubs as well as interdisciplinary conferences with CT Surgery, Critical Care, and Vascular Surgery. Additional learning opportunities occur as the fellows become teachers of medical students, residents, and their peers not only during clinical rotations but also as instructors in the Sim Lab and lecturers at the Medical School.
National leaders in cardiovascular medicine and research are brought to the UVM campus by the Cardiovascular Research Institute of Vermont (CVRI) to provide seminars for faculty and trainees and to interact closely with cardiology residents, fellows, and early career faculty. Upcoming visiting professors are announced on the CVRI website; a list of previous visiting professors and seminars is available on the CVRI Events page. Medical residents and cardiology fellows also have the opportunity to participate in educational and networking activities sponsored specifically for trainees by CVRI's Early Career Advisory Committee.
