The Department of  Anesthesiology at the University of Vermont and The University of Vermont Medical Center has  a long tradition of commitment to providing excellent,  state-of-the-art patient care, education and opportunities for research. We train residents and teach medical students attending  the UVM College of Medicine. Our faculty members are serving in national leadership positions for clinical care, research and teaching.

Veena GraffResearch

Veena Graff, M.D., former Pain Medicine Fellow in the UVM Department of Anesthesiology had been researching a theory that music can reduce anxiety pre-operatively and can reduce medication consumption throughout the surgical period. Therefore, she decided to launch a project that allows patients to listen to music during their surgical period.
