Innovation in Resident Education

This is an incredibly exciting time to be entering the field of obstetrics and gynecology. At UVM, we have introduced curriculum options to ensure that our trainees receive outstanding core training and also have the option of exploring special tracks of interest.

Our Curriculum

The field of OBGYN is dynamic and constantly evolving. As such, we pride ourselves on our ongoing evaluation of our curriculum in order to best meet the needs of our trainees. In addition to a rich clinical experience, the curriculum includes simulation and interactive didactic lectures from our core and volunteer faculty as well as from multidisciplinary faculty (e.g., pediatrics, pathology, primary care, surgery) throughout our academic medical center. In addition to our core curriculum and exposure to all of the subspecialties, our residents will have an 8 week elective block during their third year to pursue special tracks of interest, i.e. research, global health, health care policy, medical education, or rural health care.
