OurPartnersThe Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont holds affiliation agreements with a number of sites for students to pursue clerkship training. 

These locations offer the best of community and academic medicine and a variety of clinical experiences for our students. These hospitals and providers give patients access to leading-edge technology, advanced treatment options and the highest level of compassionate care.

The UVM Health Network

The University of Vermont Health Network member hospitals are located throughout Vermont and upstate New York: Alice Hyde Medical Center, Central Vermont Medical Center, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Elizabethtown Community Hospital, Porter Medical Center and The University of Vermont Medical Center, UVM’s primary teaching clinical partner adjacently located to the Larner College of Medicine campus. 

The UVM Health Network is affiliated with the Hudson Headwaters Health Network a not-for-profit system of community health centers headquartered in Queensbury, NY and home of the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship. 

Clinical Branch Campus, Connecticut

The Western Connecticut Health Network is comprised of three Connecticut hospitals: Danbury Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and New Milford Hospital. The UVM clinical branch campus main teaching hospitals for Larner College of Medicine students are Norwalk and Danbury. The Network has nearly 800 beds and over 1,000 physicians serving a population of 600,000 in western Connecticut in an area spanning from the coast to Danbury along the New York border. 

Eastern Maine Medical Center

Located in Bangor, Maine, the Eastern Maine Medical Center is the specialty referral hospital for the northern two-thirds of Maine, providing leading-edge programs in cancer, surgery, and cardiac care, and more.

St. Mary's Medical Center

St. Mary's Medical Center  is an award-winning 464-bed hospital located in West Palm Beach, Florida. St. Mary's hosts traditional clerkship opportunities for UVM students. Services include vascular health, obstetrics, neuroscience, orthopedics and emergency medicine.

Students, residents, and staff acquire global health experience through our Danbury Hospital, Western Connecticut Health Network, partnership.

The Global Health Program distinguishes our medical education program from others, strengthens our position as a leading teaching and research institution, and helps us attract the best and brightest health care professionals.
