Capers Presents Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Health Equity Lecture

Quinn Capers IV, M.D., Rody P. Cox professor of internal medicine, cardiology, and associate dean of faculty diversity at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine, presented UVM's 2023 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Health Equity Lecture on January 18, 2023.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont presented the 2023 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Health Equity Lecture on January 18, 2023. Quinn Capers IV, M.D., Rody P. Cox professor of internal medicine, cardiology, and associate dean of faculty diversity at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine, discussed "Why We Can’t Wait: A Conversation About How Diversity in Medicine Will Save Lives and How To Get There."

A graduate of Howard University and The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Capers completed his internal medicine residency and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and

interventional cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. While serving as the dean for admissions at The Ohio State University College of Medicine from 2009 to 2019, he led the school to have one of the most diverse classes in the nation.

Capers speaks widely across the U.S. and internationally on diversity, racism, and bias in medicine. You can read his full bio here.
