The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont will offer a new online Certificate of Graduate Study in Health Care Management and Policy starting in January.

The 18-credit program introduces students to healthcare policy, finance, and management issues directly relevant to today’s evolving healthcare environment. UVM’s new program is designed for health care and public health professionals, medical students, nurses, and recent bachelor’s degree graduates with interest in a non-clinical graduate degree in health care policy.

“Our program provides students with a foundation in healthcare policy, finance, and leadership applicable to today’s health and healthcare marketplace, says Jan K. Carney, MD, MPH, associate dean for public health and program director. “Students will gain expertise in topics essential to improving the health of patients and populations, including legal issues, economics, management, informatics, and policy, critical to healthcare and public health.”

The Certificate of Graduate Study in Health Care Management and Policy is a collaboration between the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at UVM, the UVM Graduate College, and UVM Continuing and Distance Education.

The program joins a portfolio of other online graduate certificates at UVM, including a Certificate of Graduate Study in Public Health, Certificate of Graduate Study in Environmental Public Health, Certificate of Graduate Study in Epidemiology, and Healthcare Administration Professional Certificate.
