AAP News Reports First, Burke Honored at AAP National Conference

(SEPTEMBER 27, 2024) The American Academy of Pediatrics’ AAP News announced that Lewis First, M.D., M.S., has been selected for the Clifford G. Grulee Award and Leah Burke, M.D., M.A., has been honored with the David W. Smith Award for Excellence in Genetics and Birth Defects Education.

(SEPTEMBER 27, 2024) The American Academy of Pediatrics’ AAP News announced that Lewis First, M.D., M.S., has been selected for the Clifford G. Grulee Award and Leah Burke, M.D., M.A., has been honored with the David W. Smith Award for Excellence in Genetics and Birth Defects Education. First is professor and chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont’s Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine, chief of pediatrics at the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital, and editor-in-chief of the journal Pediatrics. Burke is professor emerita of medicine and pediatrics at the Larner College of Medicine. The awards were presented during the AAP National Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida, September 27–October 1, 2024.
