(JANUARY 29, 2024) Endocrinologist Matthew Gilbert, D.O., M.P.H., professor of medicine, was quoted in a News Net Daily story on the prevalence of prescriptions for Ozempic across the United States.

(JANUARY 29, 2024) Endocrinologist Matthew Gilbert, D.O., M.P.H., professor of medicine, was quoted in a News Net Daily story on the prevalence of prescriptions for Ozempic across the United States.

Gilbert sounded the alarm in July 2023 about the off-label use of drugs like Ozempic for weight loss.

“It’s not a drug that I would recommend to people in their 20s who are looking to lose a few pounds before a wedding,” he told CBS affiliate WCAX in Burlington, Vermont. “It’s not socially responsible, it’s not economically responsible.”
