Stacey Sigmon and Sherrie Khadanga Receive Gender Equity Award Recognition

Vermont Center on Behavior and Health members Stacey Sigmon, Ph.D., and Sherrie Khadanga, M.D., will be recognized at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine's Celebration of Gender Equity in Medicine and Science. Dr. Sigmon is the 2023 recipient of the Gender Equity Outstanding Achievement in Medicine and Science Award, and Dr. Khadanga is the winner of the 2023 Rising Star Emerging Professional Award.
Vermont Center on Behavior and Health members Stacey Sigmon, Ph.D., and Sherrie Khadanga, M.D., will be recognized at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine's Celebration of Gender Equity in Medicine and Science. Dr. Sigmon is the 2023 recipient of the Gender Equity Outstanding Achievement in Medicine and Science Award, and Dr. Khadanga is the winner of the 2023 Rising Star Emerging Professional Award.

The Gender Equity Outstanding Achievement in Medicine Award is given annually to a woman or gender diverse faculty member within the UVM Larner College of Medicine who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in medicine and science through research, education, or service. Dr. Sigmon will be the fourth recipient of the award, which began in 2020.

The Rising Star Emerging Professional Award recognizes a woman or gender diverse faculty or staff member who is in the early stage of their career and who demonstrates excellent in contributions to students, colleagues, and/or the institution in the areas of gender equity and inclusion. This award also began in 2020, making Dr. Khadanga the fourth annual recipient of it.

The 2023 awards will be presented at the celebration event on Thursday, March 2.
