(JANUARY 27, 2023) Martin Keller, M.D., associate professor of pediatric surgery, is a co-author of a recent study that found that low-income children—Black children in particular—are most at risk of gun violence during times when COVID-19 cases spike, according to KJLU Radio at Lincoln University.

The study, “COVID-19 Pandemic effects on the epidemiology and mortality of pediatric firearm injuries; A single center study,” was published in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery
