Drs. Higgins and Klemperer Participate in the 2021 Virtual North East Regional IDeA Conference

Dr. Higgins co-chaired the session, Emerging Research on Addiction and Overdose. Dr. Klemperer and Dr. Higgins both presented during this time and the video is now available on YouTube.

Over three days in August, the Rhode Island IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE) hosted the 2021 virtual North East Regional Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Conference. The conference brought together researchers from IDeA programs throughout Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, including VCBH Director Stephen T. Higgins, PhD and Assistant Professor Elias Klemperer, PhD.

Dr. Higgins co-chaired the session, Emerging Research on Addiction and Overdose. Dr. Klemperer presented, “Preliminary Findings from a Statewide Evaluation of the Implementation of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) in Vermont Correctional Facilities.” You can now view his presentation on YouTube beginning at the 26.40- minute mark. Dr. Higgins discussed the "Challenge of Psychomotor Stimulant Use" as a special session bonus. This can be viewed beginning at the 2 hour 7 minute mark.
