”Diabetes 2019: Updates on Management and Treatment” was very well-received by a diverse audience of healthcare professionals. Evaluation comments indicate that the conference achieved its goal – to educate and transform collaborative care in the area of diabetes care.
Learning side-by-side were physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians and certified diabetes educators. Many commented that better collaboration between providers is key to best management of diabetes in their patients.
One certified diabetes educator (CDE) wrote: “I am going to do more educating to the residents, nurses and attendings as to the stats about using A1c tests - now I have some good slide visuals [to help illustrate] what I have been trying to get across to them. Thank you for this all!”
Dr. Mary Korytkowski’s keynote presentation addressed the special considerations of treating older adults with diabetes. “Excellent presentation. I hope that UVM can bring Dr. Korytkowski back for conferences in future.”
