Fassler Comments on Medication Adherence in Youth with ADHD

(AUGUST 2, 2019) David Fassler, M.D., UVM clinical professor of psychiatry was featured in an article in Psychiatric News from the American Psychiatric Association on a recent report stating that more than half of children and adolescents with ADHD may not be taking stimulant medications as prescribed.

(AUGUST 2, 2019) David Fassler, M.D., UVM clinical professor of psychiatry, was featured in an article in Psychiatric News from the American Psychiatric Association on a recent report stating that more than half of children and adolescents with ADHD may not be taking stimulant medications as prescribed. Fassler noted that the study's results are consistent with previous findings and that "compliance is generally enhanced when the medication is utilized as a component of a comprehensive plan, individualized to the needs of the child and family.” He also commented on the limitations of the study.
