August 18, 2017 by Michelle Bookless

On August 10, Thomas Delaney, Ph.D., an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UVM spoke with VPR's Vermont Edition about the link between gun safety and suicide prevention.
(AUGUST 10, 2017) On August 10, Thomas Delaney, Ph.D., Vermont Child Health Improvement Program researcher and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UVM's Larner College of Medicine spoke with VPR's Vermont Edition about the link between gun safety and suicide prevention. In an interview with Liam Elder Connors, Delaney noted that it's important that a person not have access to an extremely quick and lethal way of ending their life, such as a gun, when experiencing a time of suicidal crisis. In fact, he noted that those "...who survive even really serious attempts at taking their lives actually don't go on to die by suicide."
