Emergency Medicine Research Associate Program

About EMRAP

EMRAPThe Emergency Medicine Research Associate Program provides the education and infrastructure necessary to conduct clinical research projects in the emergency department. EMRAP provides training and support for research associates who screen and assist in enrolling emergency department patients for ongoing clinical research and quality improvement projects under the supervision of UVMMC (University of Vermont Medical Center) emergency physicians. EMRAP courses count as electives towards the EMS minor.

Course Levels

 

EMS Minor

Are you interested in emergency medicine and want it to count towards a minor?

To obtain a minor in Emergency Medical Services, you are required to complete:

  • EMT (6 credits)
  • Medical Terminology (2 credits)

AND choose from the following elective courses (9 total credits)

  • EMRAP- EMED 3000, 3010, 3200 (3-4 credits each)
  • Wilderness First Responder Training (3 credits)
  • EMT TA

  • More than 65,000 patient visits a year
  • 45 beds, including 18 specifically designated for trauma and major resuscitation
  • EMRAP students of all levels spend time training in the ED

    Roz King is both a clinical and research registered nurse in the Emergency Department. She is the program manager for the Emergency Medicine Research Associate Program (EMRAP).
