Please be cautious of any messages coming from sources not affiliated with UVM Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education.

Beware of unauthorized companies reaching out to you via email or phone, offering to assist with conference registration, hotel reservation, and other services such as mailing list sales for the upcoming conference.  Occasionally, an unauthorized company may set up a website to suggest their association with the conference and may even go so far as to have false titles in their email signatures.

To avoid these scammers, please be aware of the red flags:

• The site includes a disclaimer in small print toward the bottom of the page, stating they are not associated with the Hospital Medicine Conference.
• They may ask you to share your login and password.
• They may include a surcharge to register.
• They may ask you to pay via PayPal.
• They may claim to offer discounted hotel rates.
• You may be called to verify that you’ve received the proper rates for hotels, and attempts are made to sell you a different hotel.

Please be sure to only register using the links on our webpages or call 802-656-8407 to register by phone. Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions, 802-656-2292.
