Maximal Oxygen Consumption
For testing the maximal aerobic capacity of our research volunteers, we employ the Parvo Medics True One 2400 Metabolic Measurement System. This monitor analyzes oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production on a breath by breath basis and receives high marks from the research community for both its design and accuracy.
For electrocardiographic data, we use the CardioCard ECG software developed by Nasiff CardioSystems. Our lab also has both a Monark 839E cycle ergometer and a Full Vision Trackmaster treadmill (12 mph maximum speed, 25% maximum grade) that will cover most exercise testing protocol needs.
