Dr. Gramling is an associate professor and research director for Palliative Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Gramling is the inaugural Miller Chair and the inaugural chief of the Division of Palliative Medicine. This chair was established in 2015 with a very generous gift from Holly and Bob Miller to recognize physicians who excel both as teachers and providers in improving the efficiency and quality of palliative medicine.

Dr. Huggett is the director of the Teaching Academy at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine as well as the Assistant Dean for Medical Education. She is the inaugural Larner Professor in Medical Education and the inaugural director of the Teaching Academy at the Larner College of Medicine. This professorship was established in 2014 by Robert and Helen Larner to recognize and support excellence in medical education research and scholarship.

He is also the current Sarah Nichols Gruenig Green & Gold Professor. The professorship was established in 2013 by Sarah Nichols Gruenig who hoped to promote improved treatment and the eventual cure for diabetes.

Dr. Boyd is an associate professor for the Department of Neurological Sciences and is the current Robert W. Hamill, M.D. Green & Gold Professor. This professorship was established in 2013 to support a faculty position in the College of Medicine’s Department of Neurological Sciences.  The fund was named by the College in honor of Robert Hamill, M.D. who served as chair of the department for 20 years.

Dr. Rodney Parsons is a professor of neurological sciences in the College of Medicine and is the current Thayer Professor in Anatomy. Established in 1910 from contributions made by alumni of the College of Medicine, the Professorship was created to honor Dr. Samuel White Thayer, dean of the College of Medicine from 1854-71 and 1880-82.

Dr. Maeck was the chair of the department from 1949 to 1975; the Maeck Chair was established in his honor in 2000 by his widow Doris.

Dr. Higgins is a professor of Psychology and Psychiatry in the Larner College of Medicine and is the current Virginia Donaldson, M.D.’51 Professor. The professorship was established in 2013 by Virginia Donaldson, M.D. Dr. Donaldson was a professor of pediatrics and medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She was known for her research involving studies of mechanisms of blood coagulation and the compliment system.
