This conference is designed to keep primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other health professionals abreast of best practices in outpatient care of thyroid-related medical issues. Topics include hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, hypothyroidism, and a discussion of interesting thyroid cases. The conference will feature nationally recognized faculty from the UVM Health Network and provide ample time for question and answer, as well as networking with other area providers.
Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Outline the appropriate evaluation of hyperthyroidism.
- Identify some of the challenges faced when assessing and treating patients with hypothyroidism.
- Provide clinical direction on how to properly evaluate thyroid nodules.
- Determine how to interpret common and challenging thyroid function test results.
- Discuss individual questions and cases with the faculty.
