What is Look at Larner?
Look
at Larner is a two-day program that is held at the Larner College
of Medicine. The program is based on student-led
outreach, and aims to serve applicants to medical school who are
underrepresented in the profession of medicine. The programming provides
an opportunity for participants candidates to shadow a medical student,
tour the facilities, attend an admissions forum, receive hands on
experience in our clinical simulation lab, meet and hear from our
current students, and explore the Burlington area!
Who can apply?
Rising
college juniors through postgraduate students and career changers are encouraged to apply. We welcome students from all backgrounds, and
the program aims to support those from underrepresented and underserved
backgrounds who are applying to medical school. The AAMC defines
Underrepresented in Medicine (URM) as racial and ethnic populations that
are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their
numbers in the general population. We are expanding this definition to
include sexual minorities, those identifying as transgender or
non-binary, and individuals from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
How do I apply?
Check back in late Spring for details about applying for 2024.
