(December 29, 2022) As New Year’s Eve approaches, Peter Jackson, M.D., assistant professor of psychiatry, spoke with WCAX-TV about alcohol abuse, alcohol poisoning, and more.

Risk factors for alcohol abuse include binge drinking and earlier age at drinking, Jackson said. Choosing a beverage with a lower percentage of alcohol, such as beer or wine, rather than stronger spirits, is a lower-risk way to enjoy an alcoholic beverage.
