Press-Republican Covers Bell’s Facebook Live Event on RSV in Kids

(NOVEMBER 7, 2022) Associate Professor of Pediatrics Rebecca Bell, M.D., answered RSV-related questions during a Facebook Live event on November 3, the (Plattsburg) Press-Republican reported.

(NOVEMBER 7, 2022) Associate Professor of Pediatrics Rebecca Bell, M.D., a pediatric critical care physician at UVM Children’s Hospital and president of the Vermont Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, hosted a Facebook live event with UVM Children’s Hospital and UVMHN Community Hospitals on November 3 to answer RSV-related questions and provide insight into the virus, the (Plattsburg) Press-Republican reported in an article titled UVM Doctor: Child RSV Cases, Hospitalizations Putting Stress on System.” While in most people RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) affects the upper respiratory system and causes mild cold-like symptoms, contracting RSV can be very serious for infants under 6 months old, she stressed, potentially involving the lower airway and causing difficulty breathing.
