Conference Details




Overview

This conference is designed to equip primary care clinicians and other professionals with updated knowledge on issues related to outpatient management of patients with diabetes. Specific topics to be addressed at this year’s conference include treating diabetes in older adults, cardiovascular disease prevention, clinical presentations and evaluation of peripheral nerve involvement in diabetes, and more.

Objectives

  •  Discuss the epidemiology and recent classification approach to peripheral nerve involvement in diabetes.
  •  Assess how technology may change clinical practice in diabetes care.
  •  Improve understanding of cardiovascular risk associated with diabetes.

Conference Location

The conference will be held at Delta Hotels by Marriott Burlington in South Burlington, VT (formerly Trader Duke's). Please make your hotel reservations directly with the hotel (802-658-0250) and ask for the UVM Preferred Corporate Rate of $101 plus tax (based on availability).

The University of Vermont designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

This Live activity, Diabetes 2019: Updates on Management and Treatment with a beginning date of 11/08/2019, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 5.75 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This program has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 5.75 Nursing Contact Hours. 

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) has approved this education for 5.5 CPEU’s.

Nursing Scholarships 

Nursing Scholarships will be awarded for up to two nurses. Please send a 300-500 word essay on your interest in this program and how it would improve or impact your care of patients. Registration Fee Summary

  • $250 Physicians ($300 after October 15)
  • $150 NPs, PAs and Other Health Professionals ($200 after October 15)
  • $100 Nurses, RDs and CDEs ($125 after October 15)
  • $50 Students ($75 after October 15)

Registration and Cancellation 

All course materials (available electronically), continental breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks are included. Refunds, less a $75 administrative fee are available if that cancellation is made prior to October 19, 2019. No refunds are possible after that date.

Syllabus

The conference syllabus will be available as an electronic download with presentations as PDF files (included with your registration fee). Please plan to bring your laptop or electronic device with you to the conference to view both the conference materials as well as to complete the online conference evaluations via the UVM CMIE credit system. You will receive an email notification (via the email you used to register for this conference) about a week prior to the conference start date that presentations will be available for downloading. Please note: printed syllabus, paper copies of evaluations and paper CMIE certificates will no longer be provided.
