Presentation

  • Please review Content Validity Informational Sheet for more information.
  • All recommendations for patient care must be based on current science, evidence, and clinical reasoning, while giving a fair and balanced view of diagnostic and therapeutic options.
    • We encourage you to include a list of references.
  • All scientific research referred to, reported or used in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, analysis and interpretation.
  • If you are discussing new and evolving topics, these areas need to be clearly identified as such and you may not advocate for, or promote, practices that are not, or not yet, adequately based on current science, evidence, and clinical reasoning.
  • Content cannot be included if it advocates for unscientific approaches to diagnosis or therapy, or if it promotes recommendations, treatment, or manners of practicing healthcare that are determined to have risks or dangers that outweigh the benefits or are known to be ineffective in the treatment of patients.
  • When referring to a specific drug, generic names should be used whenever possible.
  • Should you discuss the unlabeled use of a commercial product during your talk, this too, must be clearly stated to the audience.
  • Any financial relationship(s) with ineligible companies which are related to the content of your talk must be disclosed to the audience at the start of your talk.
  • The content of your talk must be balanced and free of commercial bias (multiple therapies should be mentioned).
  • Educational materials, such as slides, abstracts and handouts, may not contain any advertising, trade name or product group message.
  • For HIPAA compliance, please make sure any patient images or other identifiers are obscured.
  • Review your content to avoid inadvertent stereotyping or shaming images or language.
